Vår inderlig kjære Jannicke døde plutselig // (English text at the bottom)

Jannicke passed away unexpectedly on February 7th at her home in Haslum. She likely had a sudden illness, and it happened quickly. We don't really know much more about what and how. Those of you who met her know how lively, colorful, and intense she was. She has always been a caring daughter, big sister and aunt, and a unique conversation partner. At the same time she was a bright star at work, and she was internationally acclaimed in her profession. Together with her Jorma she traveled around the world, lecturing at conferences, running marathons, and watching solar eclipses. With intense willpower and a zest for life, Jannicke fought her way through an "incurable" cancer, with tailored treatment, an extreme diet, and 2-3 hours of walking every single day regardless of her condition or the weather. She was declared completely cancer-free a year ago and was so pleased with it. Thus, it was a double shock that she suddenly should be struck this way. Jannicke would have wanted us to keep our heads high and take a glass of champagne in her memory. So that's what we'll do.
We have posted some links that describe well what she achieved professionally.

Lessons I learned from Jannicke
(by Stacey Orsat, President, Masimo)
1. If it matters - do it. Don’t let anyone, any invisible barrier stop you.
2. Be kind. And when you are not - try to learn and do better. Humans aren’t perfect, but we are all on the same team trying hard to do the best we can.
3. Bring colour to everything you do, everywhere you go.
4. Bring an extra bag so you can store an extra snack, a pair of Saks 5th Ave heels and a pair of running shoes along with a thermos of tea. Then you are ready to be everywhere and do everything in speed and in style.
5. Don’t let poison and disease define you. Talk about them, but don’t let them take over all the other amazing parts of your life.
6. Hug people and tell them you love them. It may be all that matters.
7. Have courage to say sorry.
8. Treat every human as if they all had big laughs, big dreams, big dances, big hearts - all do and all deserve that.
9. Difficult jobs are worth doing. Hard things are worth solving.
10. Make every minute of every day of every sun, of every km, of every solar eclipse, of every olive branch, of every journey count.
“Millions of people are alive because of Jannicke.
Millions have laughed because of Jannicke.
Millions will continue to make the world a better place because of a Jannicke.”

Jannicke , I found out too late that you were gone. I was going to send you a message and tell you I was now done at the hospital but guess what, I found out you slept beautifully in your own house at your own terms. You dont stop to amaze me. You were my hero and will always be. My life in Norway wont have been the same without you. Coming from that little village in Kenya and ending up as a doctor in Norway is something that could not have been possible without you. May you rest with my mamma. I just remember calling you from Kenya when my mother was in ICU , your peaceful words helped me to carry on. Your memory will live forever in my heart. Rest in peace my mentor
Hvil i fred ️
Thank you for your kind and caring nature Jannicke. Your memory will always bring a big smile and warmth in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with Jorma, your family and colleagues who I know love you dearly

I am so sorry to hear that this world has lost such an inspiring, kind and enthusiastic person. Jannicke was a guiding light in the early days of my career and I feel greatly priviledged to have known her. She will always remain an inspiration to me and I'm sure to many others. My deepest condolences to her family and to her many, many friends all around the world.
